Abstract
In this research study we examine the social effects of the last two major crises or the significant structural changes occurred in Argentina, the first between 1989 and 1990, and the second between 2001 and 2002. In this sense, we study the relationship between the GDP volatility and social vulnerability measured via the poverty rate. We also analyze the impacts that the volatility exerts on social vulnerability in the two aforementioned structural crises, and we study in depth what is known as “asymmetries of the cycle.”
