Abstract

This paper summarizes the recent book entitled "Estados Unidos hispano" (2015), by the same author. This text proposes a journey through the history and current situation of the Spanish and the Latino community in the United States. The paper pays special attention to the literary realm of Spanish in the United States, but also discusses the main features of the Spanish presence in different social environments.

Este artículo compendia la reciente obra "Estados Unidos hispano" (2015), del mismo autor. Se propone un recorrido por la historia y la situación actual del español y la comunidad latina en los Estados Unidos. El artículo presta especial atención a la materia literaria, pero también comenta los rasgos principales de la presencia del español en distintos ámbitos sociales.
