Abstract

The use of technology in the cultural sphere is a phenomenon in which both public and private sectors have been part to create, spread and reinforce discursive products from few decades ago. In the case of Mexico, governmental institutions of some states have exploited "video mapping" as a multimedia tool to emphasize, relegitimize or reconfigure an official discourse regarding the history of a place; trying at the same time to establish not only a collective identity in their inhabitants, but an homogeneous sociocultural construction for tourists about a certain place. This article presents the relationship between the use of "video mapping" and its institutional discursive function in the specific cases of two mexican states: Puebla and Oaxaca.
