Cortesía y poder: la petición como gestión del vínculo interpersonal en una asignatura universitaria impartida a través de ordenador (Webct)

Abstract

En este artículo partimos de la asunción de que los hablantes definen sus identidades en el flujo informacional que establecen mediante sus relaciones comunicativas. Por lo tanto, gestionan esta interdefinición mediante los mensajes que producen. Nuestro propósito es analizar varios mecanismos retóricos usados por los estudiantes de una asignatura universitaria impartida a través de ordenador. Siguiendo la definición de poder del filósofo español Marina como la capacidad para volver real lo posible, estudiaremos cómo, recurriendo a estos mecanismos, alteran estos flujos interpersonales con el fin de conseguir las metas que se proponen cuando demandan bien servicios, bien información, bien al profesor, bien a otros compañeros.

In this article we assume that the speakers define their identities in the informational flux they create during their communicative relationships. Therefore, they manage this interdefinition when they produce their messages. Our purpose is to analyze several rhetorical devices used by the students of a university computer mediated subject. Following the definition of power of the Spanish philosopher Marina as the capacity to make real the possible, we are going to study how, using these devices, they alter the interpersonal rapport in order to achieve their aims when they are requesting either information or services, either to the teacher or to other fellows.
