Cooperación en la conversación: estrategias estructurales características de las mujeres

Abstract

Son muchos los tópicos que, desde tiempos remotos, atribuyen a la mujer características conversacionales negativas. Sin embargo, los estudios actuales, realizados sobre corpora de datos reales, muestran que fenómenos estructurales como el equilibrio en la distribución de turnos de palabra, la realización frecuente de interrupciones o la producción recurrente de apoyos constituyen estrategias básicas de cooperación en conversación y que hombres y mujeres presentan pautas de comportamiento diferentes con respecto a estos recursos, asociadas a concepciones distintas de la actividad interactiva misma. En este artículo, presentamos algunos resultados de nuestras investigaciones sobre la conversación en lengua española que apoyan las consideraciones precedentes

Since remote times, there have been many topics which attribute negative conversational characteristics to women. Nevertheless, current studies based on real data show that structural phenomena such as the balance in the distribution of speech turns, the use of interruptions, or the recurrent use of support pet words, all constitute basic cooperation conversational strategies which are used differently in women and men. These different behavioural patterns are associated to a different conception of the interactive activity in itself. In this paper, we will present some of the results of our research on conversation in Spanish language that support the preceding statements.
