La unidad del Peloponeso. De la imaginación a la territorialización en la Confederación Aquea helenística durante los siglos III-II a. C.

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es estudiar las circunstancias históricas en las cuales se desarrolló una idea de identidad entre el territorio de la Confederación aquea helenística y el espacio geográfico del Peloponeso. En ese sentido, se intenta aquí datar el momento en el que la identidad entre ambas nociones fue forjada entre los líderes políticos aqueos y mostrar cómo el proceso político y cultural de imaginación de un Peloponeso aqueo antecedió al establecimiento de un control efectivo sobre este espacio geográfico.

The aim of this article is to study the historical circumstances in which it was developed an idea of identity between the territory of the Hellenistic Achaean Confederacy and the geographical space of the Peloponnese. In this way, it is attempted here to date the time at which the identity between both notions was forged among Achaean political leaders and to show how the political and cultural process of imagination of an Achaean Peloponnese predated the establishment of effective control over this geographical space.
