Abstract

Given the need for appropriate methods of teaching art in today’s education system, this article explores the interaction, meaning and implication of Media Lab models and the sphere of visual production and art education. Almost three decades after the advent of Media Lab spaces, a revision and evaluation of its canons is urgently needed. The debate takes into account the creation of the Media Lab as a product of a specific historical context and circumstances, a vision. A typology has been devised, and also we propose a deep research, which goes beyond the fascination for the technological revolution, the promise of cultural cooperation, Internet networks and interdisciplinary cognitive studies. We looked for an alternative model, based on pedagogical reorientation of the Media Lab model, taking the main lines from didactics in art education, texts and experiences in similar environments that protect the participants’ artistic experiences from manipulation.
