El discurso ambiental en Osamu Tezuka

Abstract

Frecuentemente se destaca el compromiso hacia la naturaleza presente en las obras del mangaka Osamu Tezuka (1928-1989), sin embargo no existe todavía un estudio exhaustivo del concepto de naturaleza en su obra. El objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar el contenido ambiental en sus cómics y en sus guiones. Nos centramos en el contenido basado en la realidad coetánea del autor y, en concreto, se analiza el discurso tóxico en la ficción realista y en la ciencia ficción, y el cambio de actitud hacia la guerra y la protección medioambiental.

Ecological awareness and environmental themes are often noted in writing on the mangaka Osamu Tezuka (1928-1989), but there is still no comprehensive study of the concept of nature in his work. This paper explores environmental content in Tezuka’s work, focusing on his treatment of contemporary reality, and assessing his contribution to toxic discourse in realist fiction and science fiction, and to changing attitudes towards war and environmental protection.
