Los inicios de la recolección de cuentos folclóricos en Murcia: Díaz Cassou

Abstract

Díaz Cassou es el primer escritor de Murcia, y prácticamente el único hasta finales del siglo XX, que incorpora a sus libros cuentos y leyendas de origen tradicional. Cerca de veinte cuentos adornan su obra, ya hoy prácticamente olvidada, que resulta de gran interés para los investigadores del cuento folclórico.

Díaz Cassou was the first Murcian author, and practically the only one until the end of the 20th Century, that included in his books both folktales and legends of traditional origin. Near twenty short stories can be found in his works, nowadays practically forgotten, yet of great interest for folktale research.
