Abstract
It is commonly assumed that myths of origins and ethiological narratives correspond to ancient and traditional cultures and literatures. This article demonstrates that some of the key-names of modern literature (from Boccaccio, Rabelais and Cervantes until Lagerlöf, Orwell or Luis Mateo Díez) are authors of ethiological fictions. The article offers some anthropological interpretations on the subject.
