Ríos de sangre y remolinos de la guerra : fuerza y permanencia de las fórmulas y de los motivos épicos

Abstract

En este trabajo estudiamos el molino de la guerra, un motivo folclórico muy poco atendido por la crítica. Este tópico se documenta en varias tradiciones literarias: desde la épica irlandesa al romancero hispánico, pasando por los cantares de gesta y la poesía árabe medieval o la antigua literatura islandesa. La dispersión de este motivo prueba su antigüedad y, al mismo tiempo, nos informa de cómo se influyen y se contaminan mutuamente los diferentes géneros literarios.

The aim of this article is to provide a more thorough study on "the war mili": a motif which literary criticism has paid little attention too This topic can be searched for in different literary traditions, which vary from Medieval Irish epic, Hispanic baIlad collections, epic poems to Medieval Arabic poetry or Icelandic Sagas. The different origins of this topic prove to what extent it has become widespread, helping us to understand how different literary genres bring about changes and influence each other over time.
