This article analyzes the Sermón de la «Sagrada Escritura» by Pseudo-Augustin as translated by Hernán Núñez de Toledo in his Glosa (1499, 1505) to Juan de Mena's Trescientas. The sermo insists on the need of reading frequently the Bible in order to better (re)construct the original Christian message eontained in it and on communicating and teaching this knowledge. Hernán Núñez saw in these two topies the foundation for his definition of a humanist as a (re)constructor and (re)builder of meaning. The sermo, as translated and interpreted by Hernán Núñez, can also be seen as containing Reformist ideas.
