Resumen
El libro VI de la Confessio Amantis de John Gower aborda el tema general de la gula, en sus múltiples variantes, incluidas las que refieren al tema amoroso ("beuediçe d'amor"). Aquí se ofrece una edición de la traducción portuguesa del texto por Robert Payn, con nutridísimo aparato de notas que la comparan con el original inglés y la traducción castellana de Juan de Cuenca.
 
Book VI of Confessio Amantis by John Gower deals with the general topic of gula including the subtopic of lovedrunkenness. This article presents an edition of the Portuguese translation by Robert Payn with an exten sive apparatus of notes aiming at a comparison bwteen the English original text and the Portuguese and Castilian (by Juan de Cuenca) translations of Confessio Amantis.
