Abstract
La poca documentación existente para el infante Alfonso (futuro Alfonso X) plantea algunas dificultades en tomo a su trayectoria, sobre todo en lo relativo al periodo que abarca los años 1221 a 1240. En este estudio el autor intenta situar diversos aspectos de la fase de formación del infante castellano, centrándose de modo particular en las relaciones que estableció con Galicia entre 1230 y 1240. El análisis efectuado permite comprender mejor la producción profana trovadoresca del ilustre autor y justificar su adhesión a la lengua del oeste peninsular.
 
The scarcity of the documentation on the infant D. Afonso, who was to become D. Afonso X, makes it difficult for us to know with certainty what the prince's early steps were like, particularly during the 1221-1240 period. The present study aims at establishing a firmer footing regarding a number of aspects of the infanr's formative years, namely with respect to his relationship to the Galician territory in the 1230's. This should provide us with a basis for understanding his creations as a troubadour in the Galician-Portuguese language and his rapport with this language of the Iberian Peninsula's Northwest in general.
