%X After reviewing, shortly, the origin of the abbreviation, the methods devised by man to abbreviate, and the causes adduced for their apparition, we think the topic needs a methodological revision about them. Abbreviation can be more than an "exotic" element into the text; it can constitute an indicator about the knowledge level of alphabetical code in a determinated age: abbreviation as cultural indicator
