%0 Journal Article %A Vegas González, Serafín %T La función de la filosofía en el Neopragmatismo de Richard Rorty %D 1996 %U http://hdl.handle.net/10017/4961 %X The interest with which the work of Richard Rorty (New York, 1931) is being followed surpasses the limits of the specifically philosophical and makes his work one of the most reliable indicators of the roads being followed by a significant pan of current American culture, of which Rorty would like to be the current guide and basic point of reference for "Western conversation." For that, Rorty has elaborated his particular neopragmatic vision of the "post-philosophical culture" in which we are currently living. The article studies the principle chapters of Rorty's contribution from a critical perspective, without forgetting its moral and political implications. However, they are not incompatible with the idea that the work of Rorty offers points of view that ware worthwhile to keep in mind while the future of philosophy and the spirit of Western culture is being debated. %K Historia de América %K America-History %K Filología %K Philology %~ Biblioteca Universidad de Alcala
