%X The author unearths new fundamental data about Cosme Pérez, the most celebrated
and famous actor of the 17th century, about his biography -mainly his tudelan origin
and his birth certifícate- and his family. This article includes the transcription of
such a document, looked for in vain by Cotarelo y Mori, who assumed that Pérez
should have been born in Madrid.
