Even though, social movements and scientific advances reveal the limitations of the classical view of most of these projects. Within this context, the Machorro mine (in Poveda de la Sierra, Guadalajara) is one of the pioneer mine in the application of the GeoFluv™ method for designing and implementing its environmental restoration, betting on an ecological vision through a geomorphological restoration whose aim is to generate stable form of relief and naturalized in the landscape, based on streambeds and thalwegs specialized in the hydrology of the area. This work introduces the first evaluation of revegetation and natural colonization in different landforms generated by the GeoFluv™ method. For it, it was applied a sectored performing sampling data collection during the fall campaign (2015) and the summer campaign (2016) whilst ecosystem variables were analyzed, taking into account abiotic and biotic factors. The results show that: • The appearance of species of flora not actively introduced in the revegetation held in spring 2015 shows that there is a passive and gradual colonization. • The distance to the source of propagules, the reference ecosystem, is a factor that, largely, determines the wealth of vegetal species, increasing the number of species in the closest areas. The presence and dispersal of Genista scorpius and Pinus nigra individuals shows that there is not a herbaceous locked in phases due to they are entering shrub and tree species from the reference ecosystem recovery. • The reliefs created during the geomorphological restoration developed by GeoFluv™ method affect to the colonization of the flora, being the main thalweg the areas of less coverage and wealth. This may be due to the erosive effect of the passage of water through these thalwegs. %K GeoFluv™ %K Mining %K Minería %K Restauración geomorfológica %K Natural Regrade %K Geomorphological restoration %K Medio Ambiente %K Environmental science %~ Biblioteca Universidad de Alcala
