This article opens a debate about the topic in a thought-provoking way by analysing the most representative research done so far, the set of reasons to account for and against error correction and a critical evaluation of positive and negative ways of correction and its methodological implications for a direct application in the language classroom. %K Second language %K Error %K Correction %K Segunda lengua %K Errores %K Corrección %K Humanidades %K Filología hispánica %K Humanities %K Spanish philology %~ Biblioteca Universidad de Alcala
