%X This work analyzes the result of a poll on attitudes and beliefs
answered by two networks of Otomi immigrants in Mexico City.
The goal is to investigate the role that language has on the identity of
these new extraterritorial or moral communities and how this is
perceived by the speakers, the ideas they have about its status and the
value they infer to it in an urban context where bilingualism is not
generalized and there is a preference for Spanish.
