Perkins has played a crucial role in the U.S. government of the time, her appointment as Secretary of Labor being a social and political success. In the political aspect, Perkins contributed to the creation and strengthening of the New Deal, thanks to her dynamic spirit and experience in many fields of knowledge. Her support given to the American workers favored the signing of many legislative measures which bettered the existing working conditions and brought solutions for the crisis lived during those years. This paper aims to highlight her main contributions to legislation and reforms with which she meant to strive toward the goal of guaranteeing greater security for the individual. %~ Biblioteca Universidad de Alcala
